  • paus - Zurich’s New Take on Tea

Located on Kanzleistrasse 119 in Zurich Wiedikon, paus. is a new tea concept built around stone-ground teas, modern drinks and simple everyday rituals. Zurich has no shortage of coffee spots, but tea is starting to look a little different. The idea is simple: take tea beyond the classic tea bag and turn it into something smoother, more contemporary and more fun to explore. Think familiar teas, reimagined through stone-ground preparation, creative drinks and a slower way of drinking. More Than Matcha At paus., you’ll find familiar teas in a completely different form. Alongside Matcha, the menu explores stone-ground varieties like Earl Grey, Assam, Oolong and Jasmine. Instead of steeping the leaves and removing them, the tea is finely milled into powder and whisked directly with water. The result is smooth, full-bodied and surprisingly different from the tea you might already know. Tea, Reimagined paus. takes familiar tea flavours and gives them a new format. Think creamy stone-ground tea lattes, iced drinks, pure tea preparations and seasonal creations, all built around the character of the tea itself. It’s less about following traditional rules and more about asking: what could tea look like today? A New Kind of Tea Ritual At paus., the preparation is intentionally simple. Sift. Add water. Whisk. Pour. That small process is part of the experience. A moment away from the screen, a few seconds to actually make something, and then enjoy it. Not complicated. Just a little more intentional. Built in Zurich paus. was created in Zurich with the idea of bringing a new tea culture to the city, premium without feeling formal, modern without losing the craftsmanship behind the product. It sits somewhere between a tea bar, a lifestyle concept and a new everyday ritual. Because sometimes you don’t need another coffee. You just need a paus.
